SUPER FERRARI
This has been all over the media as a story of what happens if people have too much money: A gazillionaire from Wall Street and his Super-Ferrrai, designed in Italy for $ 4 million. But for car program “ams tv”, we looked behind the tabloid story. Jim Glickenhaus is a real car fanatic and a Ferrari connoisseur. And it was the Italians who called him with the idea for a unique car, based on the Enzo platform. He agreed, as long as they would make this new car, which he dubbed the P4/5, similar to the Ferraris from the 60s which he grew up with. The P4/5 is a stunning achievement. It feels like the muscular, aerodynamic “machina” Ferrari has been building for a while now. Yet its curvy design embraces the luscious Ferrari style of racing days past. The best thing about Jim and his P4/5: He drives it. This car is not sitting in a gated community’s garage. Jim takes it for a spin pretty much every weekend, often going as far as 300 miles.
