Sema 2009
The main question on our mind during our annual trip to SEMA: Would this year be more subdued? Would the crazy car customizers feel the economy's pinch just as much as everybody else? Well, the answer - Yes and No. Yes, there were less exhibitors and tons of open floor space in the cavernous halls of the Las Vegas Convention Center. But the crowds still came - SEMA 2009 was as busy as ever. The highlights this year, as featured in our exclusive piece for German auto show "auto mobil": Ken Block's new snowmobile racer. The world's largest pickup truck that can hold two horses, a boat or 4 quads in its bed. The Scion booth where Japanese customizers created an xb that turns into a mobile disco and an xa that turns into a fully functional kitchen. Refrigerator, grill and hot water included.
