LA’s car show has always been in the shadows of its much larger cousin, the Detroit Auto show. Until the organizers had the ingenius idea of moving the show to November, months before Detroit. The plan worked – this year’s LA Car show was bigger than ever, and included 31 world debuts.

The current trend, pushed by Gov. Schwarzenegger, has California seeing green, the more the better – and that sentiment was on full display in LA. Hybrid cars were juggling for space with new technologies like fuel cell. Fuel-efficient SUVs were everywhere. And Mercedes tried to convince American car buyers that clean diesel is the way forward.

All this, and the answer to the question: Would the "Governator" pay a visit to the Hummer booth?
