Honda FCX
Short feature for Germany's premiere automotive program, "ams tv".
The Spallinos are a typical Californian suburban family: two kids, three cars, a remodeled house near the ocean: the perfect test family for the world's first road-ready hydrogen car. The Honda FCX looks like a small European hatchback - with a price tag of a million dollars. Hidden underneath its inconspicuous shell are four hydrogen tanks that power the fuel cells.
To drive it is to glimpse into an energy-independent, and completely emissions-free future.
Jynx turned a potentially dry story into a ratings winner, by focusing on the uniqueness of the car and what it means in the Spallino's everyday life: how do they fill it up? what if something breaks? and what do the kids' classmates think when Mom picks them up in her future-mobile?
